The Alice Smith School is one of the most prestigious and respected British international schools in Asia. It has an established reputation for excellence, and as a not-for-profit educational foundation, all the school’s resources are focused on the wellbeing of students. The school is one of the first schools in Malaysia and earliest in South East Asia and wider afield to be accredited as a British School Overseas by the Department for Education in London and is graded as outstanding.

The School resides on two campuses. The Primary Campus caters to students from Pre-school to Year 6 in the city centre, while the beautiful purpose-built Secondary Campus in Equine Park situated on 25 acres of land caters to students from Years 7 to 13 and offers GCSEs and A Levels.

Since its founding in 1946, the school has grown into a diverse and dynamic community with 1,600 students from close to 50 different nations. The core of the student body comprises the founder nationalities of Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland and later as the school matured, the children of alumni. With more than 70 years of history, the school has a rich educational heritage and an extensive web of alumni globally.

The school is a member of FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia), COBIS (Council of British International Schools), ISC (Independent Schools Council), EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Schools), and CIS (Council of International Schools).

The Alice Smith School is anchored in the English National Curriculum. The school is committed to leading excellence in learning, teaching and curriculum creativity. We provide a stimulating, challenging and joyful ethos where every individual is valued and their achievements celebrated.

We value, and aim to educate, the whole child. We want our students to lead successful adult lives, enriched and empowered by a passion for lifelong learning. Our teachers are not simply concerned with the transfer of academic knowledge and skills; we deliberately develop values and wider understanding.

Our broad and balanced curriculum is designed to stimulate every student’s capacity to learn whilst providing the opportunity to develop higher-level thinking skills including creativity, problem solving and highly effective communication.

Reflecting the very best of British education provision enhanced and enriched by our international context, our students are encouraged to become proficient lifelong learners through the explicit development of the KLASS learner attributes:

Happiness and Health

Respect

Community Mindedness

Independence

Communication

If I am not a Malaysian citizen, can I apply for Malaysia jobs?

If you don't have a Malaysian citizenship, but are living in Malaysia or if you are planning to move to Malaysia and are looking for jobs that can sponsor you, it is up to each individual employer on how it handles international candidates. We encourage you to read our blog post to help provide more information: 7 Easy Steps to Find Jobs in Malaysia As A Foreigner.

Why I have not received any response from the company after I applied?

Have you tried following up? If you did not follow up with an email or phone call, how do you determine if the company received your job application? Enquire where they are in the review process and and then ask if they received your submission. While it would be great to receive a response from the company, sometimes it doesn’t happen. Take the initiative to follow to ensure your application has been received.

How long does it take to complete the application?
