Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate safety and health programs to meet regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
- Conduct regular risk assessment and identify potential workplace hazards.
- Implement measures to control and mitigate risks, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and update policies accordingly.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents and near misses to determine root causes.
- Develop corrective action plans to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- To coordinate and organize Fire Drill.
- Work closely with management, employees and relevant stakeholders to create a safety- conscious culture.
- To liaise with local authorities (DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, MOH etc) and external parties related HSE implementation.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
- Maintain and update all related records and reports.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualification:
- Candidate must posses at least a Bachelor's Degree, Diploma or Professional Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g; Certified Safety Professional-CSP, OSH-C, CEPSWAM etc)
- Proven experience as Safety and Health Officer or in related role
- knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Special Requirement:
- A knowledge of ISO processes and procedures (ISO 9001) would be an added advantage.
