Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, distribution, and inventory management processes. The role involves supervising warehouse staff, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to manage stock replenishment. Ensure proper handling of goods to minimize damage or loss.
Staff Supervision
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff to achieve operational objectives.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to maintain high productivity.
- Schedule shifts and ensure adequate staffing for smooth operations.
Inventory Management
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce safety regulations to create a secure working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies in warehouse operations and propose improvements.
- Implement best practices to optimize space utilization and workflow.
- Support the implementation of new technologies or systems.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare and present reports on warehouse operations, inventory status, and team performance.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics) to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with inventory control techniques, safety protocols, and logistics processes.
Certifications: Forklift certification (preferred) or relevant safety certifications.
