Job Brief:
The Industrial Relations (IR) Specialist is expected to manage all aspects of industrial relations and compliance within our organisation. This role is critical in fostering a positive workplace environment by resolving employee grievances, overseeing disciplinary processes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
Job Responsibilities:
Industrial Relations (IR) Management
- Handle and resolve employee grievances promptly and effectively to maintain a positive workplace environment.
- Oversee the full disciplinary process, including conducting investigations, drafting show-cause letters, and managing domestic inquiries.
- Represent the company in labor court proceedings and ensure compliance with court rulings.
Compliance and Advisory
- Stay updated on the latest amendments to the Employment Act and other relevant labor laws.
- Provide expert advice to HODs and management on IR matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Assist in developing and implementing company policies to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
Cross-Functional HR Collaboration
- Partner with other HR functions to ensure seamless integration of IR practices across HR operations.
- Participate in HR projects and organisational development initiatives as needed.
- Support activities and programs that enhance employee well-being and satisfaction.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification, i.e. Certified Industrial Relations Practitioner is an added advantage.
- At least 5–7 years of experience in industrial relations, employee relations, or HR compliance roles.
- Proven experience in handling labor court proceedings, grievance resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- In-depth understanding of labor laws, including the Employment Act and other relevant legislation.
- Familiarity with drafting show-cause letters, conducting investigations, and managing domestic inquiries.
- Ability to interpret legal amendments and provide actionable advice to ensure compliance.
