job Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly as they arrive, creating a welcoming atmosphere and making them feel comfortable.
- Manage the waiting list, seat customers promptly, and coordinate with servers to ensure an efficient seating process.
- Handle customer inquiries and requests in a polite and timely manner, offering assistance where necessary.
- Actively promote the cafe’s menu, daily specials, and new items to customers.
- Provide information about seasonal offers, discounts, or promotions, ensuring customers are aware of any current deals.
- Ensure customers have a positive and enjoyable dining experience by checking in with them during their visit.
- Respond to customer inquiries about menu items, ingredients, allergens, or preparation methods with confidence and knowledge.
- Handle any concerns or complaints from guests promptly and professionally, ensuring that issues are resolved or escalated as needed.
- Take and manage reservations over the phone or through online booking systems.
- Ensure proper communication with customers regarding their reservation status, estimated wait times, and table availability.
- Maintain an organized system for managing the reservation book and ensure efficient seating of walk-in guests as well.
- Assist with the billing process, including checking in on the status of tables and coordinating with servers for final bills.
- Handle payment transactions efficiently, including processing cash, credit cards, or digital payments.
Job Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a hostess, server, or customer service role in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
- Experience in sales or promotions is a plus.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Ability to multitask, remain organized, and handle stressful situations with a calm and positive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of the cafe menu, including popular items, ingredients, and preparation techniques.
- Proficient in using reservation systems, point of sale (POS) systems, and handling payments.
