Senior Account Executive

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage financial processes, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.
  3. Accounts Management:
    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts and bank statements.
  4. Taxation and Compliance:
    • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
    • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
  5. Internal Controls:
    • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
    • Identify and mitigate risks in financial processes.
  6. Team Collaboration:
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
    • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
    • Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations and taxation policies.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero Accounting, Info Tech Software, Dext).
    • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other financial tools.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Language:
    • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Chinese would be an advantage
