Job Description:
To work directly and is responsible to the Finance Manager. Responsible self-starter, capable of handling multi-faceted tasks and of working under pressure. Excellent communication and analytical skills, a proactive problem solver. Attention to detail. Team player, who values teamwork, has good team building skills and is able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
Responsibilities
• Understand thoroughly Resort objectives in managing Accounts bookkeeping as to provide an effective system to track accounts transaction for effective cash flow management and be able to handle full set of accounts.
• Prepare and check accuracy of account allocation
• Prepare monthly accruals and prepayment journal.
• Cooperate and assist in reconciling the month-end inventory book balances to actual physical counts
• Ensure all files and reports are properly filed for future reference and audit
• Follow-up on issues and queries relating to Travel Agents’ commissions
• Fixed Assets List update with complete documentation file in Fixed Assets File and audit.
• Reconciliation of Bank, Guest Deposits and Creditors Ledger
• Directs subordinates to ensure productivity meets standards given in accordance with Policy and procedures.
• Ensure new technology and equipment are embraced, improving productivity whilst taking work out of the system
• Develop work following the operational, financial, administrative philosophies willing to become multi skilled and perform multi tasks.
• Develop in training activities focused on improving skills and knowledge
• Ensure employees have a complete understanding of rules and regulations, and that behaviour complies
• Effectively communicate guiding principles and core values to all levels of employees
Requirements
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience working in an accounting or finance role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation and Benefits:
A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered for this position. The role if is based on the island, and accommodation provided, meals and boat transfers will also be part of the package.
