Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Executive, Accounts to join our finance team at our oil palm company based overseas (Papua New Guinea). The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and data analysis.
Job Description
- Responsible for the assigned financial and management accounting functions of the assigned entities. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly accounts, financial statements, reports, supporting schedules and all regulatory reports.
- Monitor daily cash flow position, fund transfer and short-term placements and utilise BA/RC of the Company’s cash flows in order to maximize return yields and minimize finance costs. Liaise with bankers/financiers on all treasury matters. Handling and verifying desktop fund transfers and ensuring that there are sufficient funds to meet the daily operational requirements.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and analysis on variances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting and decision-making.
- Maintain and update accounting records, including journal entries and general ledger postings.
- Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and support external auditors during audits and tax matters including SST, corporate tax.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, as needed.
- To liase with Bankers, Auditors, Tax Agents, Company Secretary, Government Bodies on finance and admin related matters.
- Responsible for the preparation of financial statements in accordance to the relevant accounting standards in a timely and accurate manner
- To oversee Account Payables (AP) and Account Receivables (AR) and other operational activities of Finance to provide AP and AR report/analysis as input for management decision makings
- To administer and ensure effective accounting procedures including credit control and Account Receivable (AR) monitoring
- Ensure all supplier/customer claims are being process on a timely and accurate basis.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Finance or relevant field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Meticulous, good time management and ability to prioritize a demanding workload.
- Sound knowledge and experience on accounting system.
- Overseas working experience and exposure to plantation industry are added advantages
