Production Operator (Klang)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Operator is an hourly employee within Valspar’s paint and coating plants. Responsibilities may include following batch tickets, physically preparing and loading materials, and monitoring the production process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Follows batch ticket and other instructions to complete the paint and coating production or rework process.
• Stages, prepares, lifts, and loads raw materials and other components required for the production process; may also utilize a computerized, mechanical, or automatic process to lift and/or load materials.
• Monitors and adjusts gauges, valves, switches, pumps, and other components according to production requirements; follows appropriate sampling techniques.
• Lifts and prepares items required for the filling, labeling, packaging, and transporting of products.
• Operates a variety of computerized, manual, and mechanical equipment to mix, fill, unload, label pack, and store work-in-progress and finished goods.
• Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
• Completes appropriate paperwork and/or enters data regarding materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and other operations to ensure records and actions are accurate.
• Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
• Communicates with maintenance, quality control, warehousing, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
