The Dive and Activities Assistant supports the daily operations of the dive center and other guest activities, ensuring that all experiences meet safety standards and provide high-quality, enjoyable experiences for guests. The assistant is responsible for helping with dive logistics, guest engagement, activity planning, and general maintenance of dive equipment and activity materials. This role demands a passion for marine life, outdoor adventure, and customer service, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Activity Support:
- Assist in the preparation and execution of other water-based and land activities (e.g., kayaking, snorkeling, hiking).
- Set up and clean up after activities.
- Guide small groups in safe and enjoyable recreational activities.
- Monitor the condition of activity equipment, reporting issues and performing minor repairs.
- Guest Engagement:
- Interact with guests in a professional and friendly manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Offer guidance and information about marine life, local attractions, and available activities.
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and effectively.
- Help coordinate guest bookings for activities and dive sessions.
- Environmental Awareness and Conservation:
- Promote and actively participate in environmental awareness and conservation efforts.
- Educate guests on sustainable practices and the importance of preserving the local environment.
- Help with the implementation of eco-friendly practices in dive and activity operations.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with tracking dive and activity schedules, bookings, and equipment usage.
- Support the dive center and activity team in maintaining accurate records for reporting and invoicing.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Experience in organizing or assisting with outdoor activities and tours.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Passionate about marine life and outdoor activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in diving or assisting in a dive center is preferred.
- Customer service experience is highly desirable.
