Chemist cum Environmental Officer

Job Summary:

The Chemist cum Environmental Officer will focus on research and development (R&D) as well as environmental management tasks. This role requires a blend of expertise in chemistry and environmental science to develop innovative solutions and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, supporting the company's sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development (R&D):

• Design and conduct experiments to develop new products, processes, or technologies.
• Analyse chemical compounds and materials to identify properties and potential applications.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods and techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and product development.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on R&D findings.
• ⁠Design and evaluate wastewater treatment processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• ⁠Prepare technical reports and documentation related to treatment processes and plant performance.

Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Monitor environmental parameters such as air, water, and soil quality.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and risk analyses.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in R&D and/or environmental management.
• In-depth knowledge of chemical analysis techniques and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certifications related to environmental management and chemical safety are an advantage.
• Experience with various wastewater treatment technologies, such as activated sludge, membrane bioreactors, and anaerobic digestion.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations specific to wastewater treatment (CePSTPO).
