Job Title : Accounts Executive
Reports to : Finance / Accounts Manager / General Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a competent and diligent Accounts Executive to join our company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various financial tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, financial reporting, and budgeting. The role demands attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Prepare and process journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring of financial performance against budgetary targets.
- Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in the implementation of accounting software and systems upgrades.
- Provide support during audits by external auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends.
- Perform ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as assigned by management.
- Participate in Office Administrative duties, as assigned by the management.
Requirements:
- Formal Qualification (Degree, Diploma) in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience 5-6 years working in accounting or finance roles, preferably in an Engineering, Technical Supply and Service company.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and local Malaysian practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional certification in accounting will be an advantage.
