Requirements:
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree/Master in Agricultural, Agronomy, Plant Science or equivalent
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience in agronomy, crop management, or a similar capacity in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of crop management, soil science, plant nutrition and pest management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in various field conditions and travel to different estates locations as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the agronomy unit of SOPB, coordinating activities across various estates.
- Provide oil palm agronomy advisory and fertilizer recommendations for SOPB's group of estates, covering an area of 45,000 hectares.
- Provide agronomy support for oil palm nurseries.
- Supervise and guide the operations of junior agronomists.
- Deliver agronomy and nutrient-related training to estates personnel.
- Provide support and training on resolving issues related to pests and diseases in oil palm.
- Manage agronomy staff in collecting field data, and foliar and soil samples.
